This sculpture is called "Unconditional Surrender" (The Japanese surrender August 14, 1945). The name of the sculptor is J. Seward Johnson. Jack Curran, a veteran of World War II bought the sculpture with help of various Sarasota County veterans organizations. and donated it to the city of Sarasota.. The presence of this sculpture prompts viewers to never forget the "Greatest Generation" or the day when they demonstrated their unity.
